Etransa Speditions Aktiengesellschaft in Vienna became insolvent

Decline in turnover and a fine at the amount of EUR 3,5 million due to antitrust proceedings brings Etransa forwarding economically to their knees

Etransa Speditions Aktiengesellschaft, a forwarding company based in Vienna’s fourth district, is no longer able to meet its financial commitments. As the company applied for insolvency proceedings, the commercial court in charge – Handelsgericht Wien – has opened rehabilitation proceedings without self-administration on 2 June, reads a press release of the AKV (Alpenländischer Kreditorenverband), an independent Association for the Protection of Creditor Rights in Austria.

The debtor has been active in international forwarding business since 1995, with the focus on business in Eastern Europe. The political upheavals and Russia’s ban in 2014 led to massive losses in sales.

Moreover the Higher Regional Court of Vienna – Oberlandesgericht Wien – as the antitrust court imposed a fine at a significant amount in 2015.

According to the presented list of creditors this insolvency case affects about 80 creditors and 10 employees. Liabilities amount to about EUR 2.6 million. The enterprise intends to continue its business.
