Expanded Rotterdam programme with Kombiverkehr

Kombiverkehr now serves Euromax terminal in Rotterdam

A new destination was added to the intermodal network of Kombiverkehr (Frankfurt/Main). The enterprise has started operating a regular service between Duisburg and the Euromax terminal in Rotterdam last week. “Integrating a new wagon group into the existing shuttle trains between Duisburg and Rotterdam permits forwarders and transport companies a direct dispatch of containers to and from this important harbour part, without any further moves“, as the Management announced in a press release.

“The additional destination allows us once more to offer expanded transport options to our customers, and we keep our promise to enhance our commitment in western port traffic. The alliance with the terminal operator ECT that was started this year, under which we operate trains between Duisburg and Rotterdam, has proven quite successful on this purpose“, announced Robert Breuhahn, Managing Director of Kombiverkehr.

Established in 1969, Kombiverkehr has so far called at the Rotterdam terminals RCS and Maasvlakte. The Euromax terminal is approached by vessels of the shipping companies Cosco, K-Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping.
