Export award for transport: WKO honours Hödlmayr International AG

WKO acknowledges international commitment of the companies Lagermax Lagerhaus, Speditions AG and DB Schenker
 
This year the most successful export companies were awarded at the Austrian Export Day for the 19th time. The awards were presented at an export gala in Vienna’s Museumsquartier last week. “The export prizes that have been awarded since 1994 are an acknowledgement for Austria’s most successful companies in terms of exportation“, emphasised Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Economic Chamber.
 
This year the Transport and Communications Division of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO) presented the special award for outstanding performance of the national transport industry abroad for the first time. The award honours companies making a considerable contribution to the economic upturn and securing of jobs in Austria through their commitment in markets abroad.
 
The winner of the export award 2012 in the category of transport is the Upper Austrian family enterprise Hödlmayr International AG, based in Schwertberg. Hence the award was given to a logistics enterprise for the first time. Apart form that, Lagermax Lagerhaus, Speditions AG and Schenker & Co. AG received prizes in recognition of their performances.
 
Hödlmayr International AG and its subsidiaries in thirteen countries have more than 1,300 employees, operate 1.5 million m² storage space and have 590 vehicle transporters and five block train concepts. Annual turnover amounted to EUR 175 million lately. The corporate group delivers around one million vehicles per year and acts as a releasing agent for six car factories (forwarder in charge of take-over and quality control of new cars). In this function Hödlmayr handles about 650,000 new cars per year.
