Trenitalia becomes sole shareholder of TX Logistik AG

Founder of the private rail enterprise TX Logistik AG (Bad Honnef) are also selling their remaining shares of the Trenitalia company

 

After twleve years of successfully establishing and developing the private railway enterprise TX Logistik, the founders Frank Blochmann, Burkhard Bräkling, Werner Nies, Kurt Pelster and Raimund Stüer are also selling their remaining shares to Trenitalia, the majority shareholder. Trenitalia has been holding a 51 per cent share since 2005 and is now becoming the sole owner. Trenitalia is a 100% subsidiary of the Italian public railway Ferrovie dello Stato.

TX Logistik AG (TXL) offers cargo transport concepts for the railway, focussing the north-south corridor. Based in Bad Honnef the enterprise started early to provide cross border traction services on their own, competing with the public railway enterprise. The company started also the first private container rail system under the brand name “boxXpress.de“. TX Logistik has subsidiaries in Sweden, Switzerland and Austria. The enterprise has 300 employees who lately generated an annual turnover of about EUR 150 million.
