The Slovakian railway enterprise Express Rail, a.s. took over a new electronic locomotive. The Siemens multi-system locomotive ES 64F4 (BR189) is designed for cargo transport in Europe. The new vehicle in customer-specific brand design was delivered in mid-September 2012 and will be used with Express Rail for cargo transport mainly in Slovakia, but is also available for use in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. Siemens assumes the maintenance service for the locomotive.

So far Express Rail, a. s. effected its transports with leased electronic locomotives and diesel locomotives.
