FedEx Express to beat transport record

Express transport company FedEx Express to move 19 million packages on 10 December
 
FedEx Express, a company of FedEx Corp, is facing is projected to be the busiest day in company history. On Monday, December 10, 19 million packages are expected to move through the global FedEx networks, double as much as on a normal day. This beats last year’s record of 17.2 million shipments by far.
 
The weeks before Christmas is the traditional annual volume peak for service providers like FedEx Express. According to forecasts the company will transport more than 280 million shipments in total (2011: 260 million units) between the last week of November and Christmas.
 
Increased e-commerce spending is directly contributing to the record of shipment volumes. In Europe e-commerce revenue rose 20 per cent in 2012 to more than EUR 300 billion, as informs the European Multi-channel and Online Trade Association EMOTA. Thus Europe is the continent with the fastest growing e-commerce market in the world.
