Set-up of third container crane at WienCont terminal according to plan

Third container crane to increase throughput capacity at the WienCont terminal in the Viennese Freudenau port from Q2 2013
 
The expansion of the WienCont terminal facility in the Viennese Freudenau port is proceeding according to plan. The set-up of a new container crane was completed exactly in line with the time schedule. Additional staff is currently trained to operate the new crane. “This smooth process to an excellent is the result of an excellent cooperation of the supplier company Künz and our employees“, the managing directors of WienCont, Robert Groiß and Karin Zipperer emphasised.
 
The thirds container crane is scheduled to start operating by the end of the first quarter 2013. The container terminal in the Viennese Freudenau port has then three modern high-performance cranes from Künz and will be able to make greater use of the so-called “Schwungeinfahrt“ (entering the port using the momentum) for transhipment between road and rail.
 
WienCont is the operator of the container terminal in the Port of Vienna, a company of the Wien Holding. The company operates also empty container depots, container trade and repair at the locations in Graz, Wels and Villach. Moreover WienCont offers customs and trucking services at its location in the Port of Vienna.
