Fierce competition for bremenports in the Czech Republic and Hungary

Port operator bremenports and terminal operator Eurogate promoting container ports Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven

The port operator bremenports and Europe’s leading container terminal operator Eurogate together promoted the north German “port-neighbours“ Bremerhaven und Wilhelmshaven at an information events in Prague and Budapest aimed at logisticians, importers and exporters.

The events named “logistics talk“ were well received among Czech and Hungarian port customers, says bremenports marketing manager Michael Skiba on his return on 18 March. In his speeches in both capitals Skiba informed the guests about the latest developments in the port. He reported also on completed port investments, e.g. the construction of the Kaiserschleuse lock, and on projects in the pipeline, e.g. the offshore terminal.

“In the Czech and Hungarian market there is fierce competition among the logistics hub Bremerhaven, and Hamburg and the ports at the mouths of the Rhine“, says Skiba, “but they compete also with ports in the Mediterranean and Black Sea ports. Thus it is even more important to reinforce contacts with customers and inform them well about the logistic strengths of the container port in Bremerhaven.“

The new deep-sea port Jade-Weser-Port was also presented in detail in both cities by Corinna Romke, manager corporate communication of the Eurogate group.
