Firethorn lets two Peterborough warehouses

Commercial real estate investor and developer, Firethorn Trust, has completed lettings for two of its three industrial units at its 21-acre Peterborough South scheme.

Haulage giant FreshLinc is moving into a new 139,915ft2 warehouse after agreeing a 15 year lease while a national housebuilder has secured a ten year lease on the largest unit totalling 240,830ft2.

FreshLinc, which has its head office at Spalding and has a depot near Huntingdon, is is a specialist in the transport and supply chain management of fresh, chilled and horticultural products

Paul McCarthy, operation director at FreshLinc said: “Our strategically located sites mean that we can offer a variety of distribution services, regardless of destination, volume and lead time. We are delighted to be growing our presence within the UK network from this new Peterborough hub which will operate under our FLX Ambient Division.”

The buildings, constructed to net zero carbon and rated BREEAM Excellent are also the first UK  warehouses to feature PrimX jointless concrete floors, which are designed to save money, enhance safety and increase high-load resistance over time. Practical completion is expected in Q1 2023.

Knight Frank acted for the housebuilder and Savills and Lambert Smith Hampton acted for Firethorn and Freshlinc was unrepresented. The final 94,225ft2 unit is still available.
