First ISO 9001 certification of a German Northsea-port for bremenports

Certification according to ISO 9001 gives bremenports optimised processes and better chances to win consulting assignments in Germany and abroad

ISO 9001 – the bremenports company has been certified according to this standard. This makes it the first management company of a German North Sea port, which has demonstrated to an independent audit firm, that they observe well-defined standards in their internal processes.

„The ISO 9001 certification enhances our reputation,“ says Horst Rehberg, the commercial manager of the public company. „We experienced external recognition and increase our chances in the acquisition of technical and maritime consulting assignments in Germany and abroad.“

Other benefits according to Horst Rehberg are that the processes could be optimised within the company through the certification and the related audit. „In addition, the colleagues now know better than before, how certain processes must be handled. Because the procedures and responsibilities have become more transparent for everybody. “

There are also advantages for the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (municipality) as the owner of bremenports GmbH & Co. KG as well as for the taxpayers. Rehberg: „Improved procedures and avoiding mistakes help us to reduce costs. And if we improve our chances in marketing our services as a certified company, this leads to revenue in the third party business, relieving the budget. “
