First Mercedes C class from South Africa arriving in Bremerhaven

Up to 15,000 vehicles per year: BLG Logistics Group’s seaport-oriented logistics on global scale to serve a new business case

In July the first Mercedes vehicles of the C class from South Africa arrived at the BLG Logistics Group’s Bremerhaven car terminal. Following the start of the production of the new c class vehicles at the plant in Bremen, also the MB sister plant in East London has started production.

The vehicles covered the distance to Europe on the Prominent Ace of the Mitsui OSK Line (MOL). Afterwards they were forwarded on feeder vessels to Ireland and Russia. „We expect up to 15,000 C class vehicles per year in total, arriving from the South African plant via Bremerhaven in Europe“, the BLG Logistics Group states in a press release.

BLG Logistics runs international networks for the business segments of automotive, contract and container logistics. The corporate group headquartered in Bremen employs more than 16,000 persons.
