Flughafen Wien posts losses in air freight
Vienna International Airport: Declining air freight volume in the first half of the year 2011:
Air freight business in June was clearly showing declines as reports the Vienna International Airport (VIE). Amounting to 21,315 tons (air freight and trucking) the reference figure of the previous year was failed by 12.8 per cent. In the period from January to June 142,516 tons of air freight passed the Vienna airport, which means a 3.9 per cent decline compared to the first half of 2010.
The number of passengers rose 8.6 per cent to 9.66 million in the comparison of the first six months of 2011 and 2010. Maximum take off weight grew 8.6 per cent. Flight movements increased 1.4 per cent to 120,869 take-offs and landings.
