Gebrüder Weiss investing EUR 17 million in Croatia

The international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss is investing around EUR 17 million into the construction of a modern logistics terminal in Sveta Nedelja, west of Zagreb. The new location will replace the previous office in the Jankomir district of Zagreb and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

“In the future, we will have around 18,000 m² of logistics space available. That’s almost three times as much as before. In doing so, we are responding to the sharp increase in the volume of orders in international and domestic goods traffic,” says Barbara Bujačić, Country Manager Gebrüder Weiss Croatia.

In addition, with this significant expansion, the company is setting the course for further improvement in logistics services. Among other things, the new warehouse will include an ADR depot for dangerous goods and particularly sensitive goods.

A key growth driver is the booming e-commerce market, which has steadily increased the demand for warehouse logistics and home delivery services, according to Barbara Bujačić. The company intends to enhance their expertise in these areas in particular.

Since 2018, Gebrüder Weiss in Croatia has been offering delivery of goods ordered online to the end customer. Well-known online retailers have been using this service already.

The new construction of the logistics facility in Sveta Nedelja follows the positive development of Gebrüder Weiss in Croatia. Launched in 2000 as a small forwarding company, the company today offers the full range of services of a full-service logistics specialist and well-known companies in the fields of high-tech, automotive, consumer goods and the chemical industry are among its customers.
