Gefco maintains strong position in East and Southeastern Europe

Gefco announces expansion of its collaboration with Electrolux in Romania and “jubilee train” to Kaluga

The 100th train to Kaluga was recently handled by the industrial logistics specialist Gefco. So far 2,200 rail cars carrying 4,000 containers have left Vesoul in France to embark on the 3,000km journey to the Russian city. The train transports semi knocked-down parts for final assembly to the PSA/Mitsubishi plant in Kaluga. The transit time is five days.

In Romania, Electrolux decided to extend its partnership with Gefco. The logistics service provider has been handling the truck transportation from a plant in Satu Mare in Romania to Russia and Poland since 2008. Apart from expanding export business, a new regular service between Romania and Poland was established recently. Electrolux is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of household appliances.
