GEFCO takes over forwarding division from Kieseneber Transporte

Integration of forwarding activities of the Kiesenebner Transporte company helps GEFCO Austria to gain a new location in Vorchdorf:

The expansion of the globally acting specialist for industrial logistics, GEFCO Austria, is entering the next stage. Following the lately fixed takeover of the forwarding activities of the Kiesenebner Transporte company, the enterprise has now also an own branch in Vorchdorf, Upper Austria. The new location is situated at the traffic junction “Voralpenkreuz“, where major transit routes from/to western and Eastern Europe and to the Balkans meet.

Daily overland transport to Germany and France as well as to east European countries form the core activities of the new GEFCO branch. The logistics terminal offers 5,000 m² open space and 800 m² covered warehousing area. In the initial stage GEFCO will employ seven persons at this location. Leopold Kiesenebner, owner and Managing Director of Kiesenebner Transporte since 1998, will conduct the operational business of this branch. The fleet of the autonomously acting transport enterprise consists of 15 trucks.

“Upper Austria is an important economic region. The know how of the forwarding division of Kiesenebner Transporte combined with our international orientation result in an ideal symbiosis“, GEFCO Austria Managing Director Mag. (FH) Thomas Ziegler explains the motive for this expansion.

GEFCO has six core competences: logistics, GefBoxSystem, overseas, overland, vehicle distribution, customs clearance and fiscal representation. The enterprise offers holistic solutions for industrial logistics. The group of the French PSA corporate group (Peugeot, Citroen), achieved a turnover of EUR 3.4 billion in 2010, with 9,400 employees at more than 400 locations worldwide. The Austrian company counts 70 employees in Vienna, Spillern, Gleisdorf, Graz, Schwertberg and now also in Vorchdorf.
