Geis Group implements major investment in Erlangen

Geis Group in Erlangen starts construction of multi-user logistics and technology centre

The Geis Group is about to tackle another major project. On 14 June the first cut of the spade was made to officially start the construction of a multi-user logistics and technology centre in the Franconian city of Erlangen. The end of the construction works of the 30,000 m²-facility is scheduled for this November. Moreover, the logistics service provider plans to erect two more facilities in Erlangen.

“At the new location we join our know how of plant supply, spare parts and new products distribution, packing services and assembly – also for heavy goods”, explains Johannes Söllner, Managing Director of the Logistics Services department. “After the finalisation we are going to start operating contract logistics, assembly activities and packing for several clients. Nevertheless there will remain sufficient room for more customers in this current stage of construction and in the expansions.”

The first logistics and technology centre is being set up on a 15 hectares property in the Frauenaurach industrial park in Erlangen. It will cover almost 30,000 m² logistics area and up to 3,000 m² office and administrative rooms. “For European distribution the metropolitan region Nürnberg/Erlangen offers ideal connections to Western and Eastern Europe“, Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis, managing partners of the company group explain their choice for the new location.
