Geodis Wilson announces winners of the innovation masters award

Geodis Wilson has launched an internal innovation campaign which draws on the creative potential of its employees worldwide. With the presentation of the “Innovation Masters Award” in December this year, Geodis Wilson has honoured for the first time innovative projects of employees that will be trendsetting for the global logistics provider.

Awards were presented in four categories with winning teams from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, and Canada. The winning project in the “Business Excellence – Customer Focus” category is from Denmark and will lead to the development of innovative online customer services. An electronic invoice management system has been awarded in the internal category “Business Excellence”. A team from Canada provided the best program in the category “Sustainability” – a 12-step plan for the implementation of sustainability projects. There were two winners presented in the “One Company” category: a Canadian training program for employees to implement corporate values and the company’s vision, and an Australian concept for the integration of Final-Mile-Delivery partners.

A jury, compiled of executive board members, regional vice presidents, members of the Geodis Wilson Global Talent Program and of the Strategic Customer Council, has selected the winners of the “Innovation Masters Award” (IMA). The award ceremony took place in Paris on 15 December 2011 (see photos).

“The IMA-program is part of Geodis Wilson’s corporate philosophy to become the innovation leader in the freight forwarding industry”, says Hans Schinkel, Chief Human Resources at Geodis Wilson. “Employee engagement is a crucial success factor here. The Innovation Masters Award is one of our concepts to make this happen.”

The program was launched in early 2011. Projects from almost 30 countries were submitted by employees during the first IMA campaign. 20 ideas and projects entered the final round. These projects as well as the IMA winner projects will join the implementation program starting next year.
