Geodis Wilson is the new member of BIC’s logistics partners

Consumer goods group BIC selected Geodis Wilson as its partner for logistics services in the Near and Middle East and the Indian sub-continent
 
Geodis Wildon has a new major client. The French consumer goods group BIC, one of the world’s leading producers of pens, lighters, shavers and promotional products, selected the company to control and manage logistics functions throughout the Near and Middle East and the Indian sub-continent.
 
The contract is for a two-year duration and includes product un-/loading, reception and inspection; inventory administration and storage; stock-keeping, order preparation and documentation; dispatch packaging, loading and distribution in sixteen countries. These services are organised and monitored from Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates).
 
Commenting on Geodis Wilson’s successful business acquisition, the company’s Supply Chain Manager for the UAE Ram Padmanabhan said, “We are, of course delighted to partner with a global brand like BIC and have already begun to exhibit the high level of customer service, reliability and efficient integration of logistics functions.” BIC products have been sold for sixty years now, in more than 160 countries. BIC’s net sales in 2011 topped EUR 1.824 million.
