German QCS forwarding company expands abroad

QCS – Quick Cargo Service (Frankfurt) posts record growth in the first half of 2010

The expansion throughout Europe of the German air and sea freight forwarding company QCS – Quick Cargo Service is making good progress. On 1 August a location with a staff of four persons was opened in Kopenhagen. It will serve the Scandinavian market. At the beginning of July a representative office in Warsaw has started operating.

Offices in Basel, Zurich and Amsterdam complete the list of stations within the European Union. In Germany QCS – Quick Cargo Service, which was established in 1974, is currently represented at nine locations. In total the enterprise has 120 employees on the pay roll, who render air freight, sea freight and courier services.

As QCS – Quick Cargo Service announces in a press release, the total business of the medium-sized enterprise that was established in 1974, has risen in the first half of 2010 like never in the company’s history before. The result was 65 per cent above the previous year’s figure. Gross profit increased 15 per cent.

As for air freight importations tonnage grew 38 per cent, while exportations soared up 36 per cent. Air freight makes up 80 per cent of the company’s turnover. 20 per cent are generated with sea freight services. This business segment was marked by strongly rising export volumes in the first half year (up 46 per cent), whereas maritime importations rose only 1 per cent.
