Getco (Italy) becomes member of SDV group (France)

SDV acquires a majority stake in Getco and therefore strengthens its position in Italy

SDV takes over 80 percent of the equity of Getco, an Italian multimodal transport operator founded in 1977 with its headquarters in Milan. Getco offers ocean consolidation services out of Livorno. With an annual revenue of Euro 15 million and 8,000 TEUs, Getco is mainly a specialist in ocean freight. "The arrival of SDV will allow the company to support Getco’s growth while offering many possibilities to our employees", said Guido Noé, CEO of Getco. "I wish to accompany these developments during the next two years in order to achieve this transition."

"Getco enhances our maritime expertise in Italy" confirms Henri Le Gouis, SDV CEO of the Western Europe area. "Therefore, our leadership is reinforced in the French Overseas Territories and in the Middle East. This shareholding follows the buyback of Fast Italy a few months ago and confirms the commitment to achieve better positioning in these main routes out of Italy. This move is part of a major external growth policy aimed at strengthening SDV’s ocean freight offer in all European countries."

SDV is a subsidiary of Bolloré, a highly diversified, independent industrial group that ranks among the world’s top 10 in transport and logistics. Historically, SDV’s core business has always been intercontinental air and ocean freight. By monitoring and responding to its customers‘ changing needs, SDV has broadened the scope of its expertise and is now a global leader in supply chain management.
