Unifeeder Group acquires United Feeder Services

Unifeeder Group strengthens its presence in the Mediterranean and Black Sea with the takeover of United Feeder Services
 
Unifeeder Group has reached an agreement to acquire United Feed Services Ltd (UFS). In the future the two companies will offer in combination a comprehensive feeder network in Europe with an unparalleled coverage of ports in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Black Sea. The transaction is expected to close at the end of October.
 
Unifeeder and UFS will continue to trade as separate companies and with separate organizations but will focus on combining its capabilities to improve services and operations to match the increasing requirements of clients. Therefore they are able to optimize operations and further strengthening of the well-known service levels of the two companies. Combining their effort will enable them to strengthen their presence in Northern Europe as well as in the Mediterranean.
 
Unifeeder established in 1977 and headquartered in Aarhus (Denmark) is one of Northern Europe’s leading feeder operators transporting containers from the large European container hubs in Belgium, England, Germany and the Netherlands to more than 35 regional ports across the UK, the Nordic Region and the Baltic Sea. It has a fleet of more than 40 container vessels.
 
UFS with headquarters in Limassol (Cyprus) is a leading commercial feeder operator with a strong presence in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, serving the 35 ports including Malta, Cagliari, Piraeus, Damietta, Port Said East/West, Constanza in the Black Sea, Hamburg. The company operates 25 vessels throughout the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The management expects to carry about 900,000 Teus during 2013.
