Girteka Logistics is investing EUR 60 million in new global headquarters

Besides the ambitious vision to manage the largest truck fleet in Europe, Girteka Logistics has taken another serious challenge. A modern headquarters of the growing transport and logistics company, called “Girteka Campus”, will be opened in Vilnius in 2021. The company will invest around EUR 60 million in the implementation of the project.

The area of approximately 16 hectares will accommodate administrative premises with an area of 26,000 m². Approximately 2,500 people are going to work at the company headquarters and move there from offices located in other parts of Vilnius. There will also be 2,100-spaces parking lot, a truck service center and a 4 000 m² shopping and service center.

“Moving to a new home will symbolically mark our 25th anniversary. A quarter of a century ago we have started with a single truck and three colleagues. Currently, the organization has developed into one of Europe’s leading carriers,” says Edvardas Liachovičius, CEO of Girteka Logistics.

The planned location of “Girteka Campus” is near Vilnius airport, by the intersection of Liepkalnis and Sodybų streets. According to Edvardas Liachovičius, this year the first stage of Girteka Campus project development will take place. The construction will begin in the spring of 2020, and the company is supposed to move to its new headquarters in summer 2021.

The design work will be carried out by an Austrian company: ATP Architects, one of Europe’s largest architectural service providers. It has been selected after an international architectural competition with six participants from Austria, Denmark, the United Kingdom and Lithuania.

Girteka Logistics moves produce across Europe from some of the world’s leading brands. The company transports about 460,000 full truckloads (FTL) per year. Founded in 1996, the company has gradually grown from one truck and trailer to 5,600 trucks and 5,800 trailers in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and CIS. In 2018, Girteka Logistics became the largest employer in Lithuania, currently employing more than 14,000 professionals.
