Goodman implements mega logistics site for the Hammer Group

Real estate group Goodman establishes a 100.000 m² logistics facility in Bedburg, Greater Cologne, on behalf of the Hammer Group

On behalf of the Hammer GmbH & Co. KG, a medium-sized logistics provider with its headquarters in Aachen, the Goodman real estate group establishes a 103,000 m² logistics facility in Rhenish Bedburg, in Greater Cologne. For this purpose, Goodman acquires a 19 hectares property from RWE Power. The construction work to start in April 2014. Bedburg meets the requirements of a central location of a logistics provider by its excellent access to the motorway, as well as its proximity to the inland ports on the Rhine in Neuss and Cologne-Niehl.

Goodman implements a very flexible real estate solution in two stages. The group will pass the first construction stage of approximately 40,000 m² of warehouse and logistics space in early November 2014 to Hammer. The second stage with another 60,000 m² is planned to be completed in February 2015. In full operation, the Hammer group will employ up to 750 people in the area of Bedburg. Until the completion Goodman will have invested more than EUR 50 million. The real estate company will subsequently manage the property with their own teams.

In addition to efficient complete solutions for contract logistics, the core competencies of the Hammer group are management and implementation of high-quality international land, sea and air cargo transport. Together with selected partners the company runs an extensive global network with facilities in more than 25 countries. About 800 employees generate a group turnover of EUR 135 million.
