Goodyear wins major FleetFirst contract with Groupe CAT and Marcotran
The new key accounts signed agreements for the supply of new and retread tires as well as trans-European full tire management
Spanish transport and logistics group Marcotran and the French-based automotive logistics enterprise Groupe CAT mean several thousand new vehicles for Goodyear’s FleetFirst truck tire management program. The two new major customers signed agreements for the supply of new and retread tires as well as trans-European full tire management.
The FleetFirst contract covers Marcotran’s fleet of 700 trucks and 1,200 trailers, specialising in long-distance express transport including regular runs from Spain to Russia. The decision to trust Goodyear´s truck tire management was based on the successful experience with Goodyear fuel-efficient Fuelmax tires and the comprehensive solutions package of FleetFirst, including FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS), the internet based tire management system and the optimisation of the use of vehicle fleets.
The FleetFirst contract with Groupe CAT – a leading European automotive logistics supplier – also covers tire supply for the fleet and professional truck tire management. The global company with a turnover of more than EUR 1 million in 2014, operates about 1,200 vehicles and trailers. The initial part of the FleetFirst contract with Goodyear covers vehicle logistics operations at CAT’s major European subsidiaries. At a later stage also the cargo operations of the French fleet will be managed and serviced by Goodyear.
