GSA welcomes Air Asia flight increase
New destination and new frequencies in winter schedule Air Asia X – the low-cost longhaul arm of Malaysian carrier Air Asia – has added a new destination and frequencies to its winter 2009 schedule, opening up new opportunities for its Irish cargo GSSA IAM. On 19th October, Air Asia X introduced four flights per week from its Kuala Lumpur hub to Chengdu. The services operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday using A330 aircraft. At the same time, Air Asia X has boosted flights to Gold Coast (Australia) from four to six flights per week, with new services operating on Wednesday and Friday. From December, the carrier will add four more flights per week to its Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne service, bringing flights to a weekly total of 11. Again, all flights are performed using A330 aircraft. IAM was appointed to represent Air Asia X in March, when the airline commenced its first longhaul services from London (Stansted) to Kuala Lumpur, now operated daily. Since then, IAM has seen steady growth in traffic for the airline’s network, which currently includes 20 widebody services per week from Kuala Lumpur to Australia. Quelle: IAM |
