GW pro.line home expanded to Middle and Eastern Europe

The international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss continues to expand its end customer delivery services in Central and Eastern Europe. With immediate effect, the services established on the Austrian market are also available in the Czech Republic, in Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia under the product name GW pro.line home. The range of services comprises parcel as well as large unit load shipments, express deliveries within 24 or 48 hours, two-man handling, telephone advice, as well as cash on delivery and return service. Upon delivery to the end customer, the logistics expert also takes care of the assembly of furniture and the connection of electrical appliances on site.

For twelve years, Gebrüder Weiss has been operating in the home delivery segment and has become the market leader in Austria. The company handled around 300,000 consignments for its customers in 2017. Customers primarily belong to the furniture, household and consumer electronic industries (white and brown goods), where the demand for end customer deliveries is the highest. In the medium term, Gebrüder Weiss plans to extend the GW pro.line home services to other Eastern European countries as well.

With over 6,500 employees, 150 company-owned locations and an annual turnover of EUR 1.36 billion (2016), Gebrüder Weiss ranks among Europe’s leading transport and logistics companies. In addition to its core business of land transport, air & sea freight and logistics, the company operates a number of highly specialised industry solutions and subsidiaries under the umbrella of Gebrüder Weiss Holding AG, based in Lauterach (Austria). This includes logistics consultancy firm x|vise, tectraxx (industry specialist for hi-tech businesses), inet-logistics (software solutions for TMS transport management), dicall (communications solutions, market research, training, Rail Cargo (railway transport) and the Gebrüder Weiss parcel service GWP, co-partner of the Austrian company DPD.
