Hactl scoops handling award for fifth year running

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), the leading air cargo terminal operator at the world’s top air cargo airport, has been named “Air Cargo Terminal of the Year” for the fifth year in a row at the prestigious Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards 2011 (SCALA 2011).

Hactl’s award was presented at a glittering ceremony held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre, in front of senior industry executives from the entire Asia Pacific region.

SCALA finalists are initially shortlisted based on industry votes; then, a judging panel of industry experts from the regional and global supply chain and logistics sector selects the category winners based on numerous criteria.

Hactl’s selection as “Air Cargo Terminal of the Year” was influenced by a number of factors including its proven IT expertise and systems, its vast airline network coverage, the high quality of its ground transportation links and its comprehensive abilities in handling specialised cargo.

Speaking after the awards, Mark Whitehead, Managing Director of Hactl said: “It’s a great honour for Hactl to win this title for the fifth consecutive year, and I would like to thank our customers and all those in our community for once again supporting us in this prestigious competition. The award makes all our investments, and the unstinting hard work and dedication of our staff, worthwhile.

“Although it’s good to be recognised in this way yet again, we are not in any way complacent. Hong Kong and Hactl both face their separate major challenges for the future, and so we remain determined to continue providing resources and services of the highest possible standards. Our dual aim is to ensure that Hong Kong retains its status as the region’s most important air cargo hub, and that Hactl remains the handling agent by which all others are measured both in Hong Kong and elsewhere.”
