Haeger & Schmidt Logistics consolidate their operations

130 years after it was founded in Antwerp and following long-standing business operations at its headquarters in Duisburg, the company group is re-emerging: Haeger & Schmidt International GmbH became Haeger & Schmidt Logistics GmbH effective June 7.

Under the new brand, the previously autonomously operated container business was integrated into the company again. The core competencies of the group are bundled in the divisions Inland Navigation, Projects, Intermodal and Port Logistics. “This creates all the conditions for the further development of the group,” says Heiko Brückner, CEO.

Tradition and innovation have characterised the history of Haeger & Schmidt since it was foundedin 1887. The founding fathers demonstrated impressive far-sightedness: the business purpose of the company was to be forwarding, shipping, freight business of all kinds, purchase and sale of ships, steamers and trade on the Rhine, its tributaries and the canals connected with the Rhine.

Today, the Haeger & Schmidt group of companies with around 200 employees working for Haeger & Schmidt Logistics GmbH, HSW Logistics GmbH (both based in Duisburg), Haeger & Schmidt Logistics Belgium NV (Antwerp), ETK Euroterminal Kehl GmbH and Best Logistics Sp.z o.o (Stettin) offers a comprehensive logistics portfolio.
