Harworth Estates is planning the development of 1.2 million sq ft of commercial space at a 112-acre site at Chatterley Valley, Staffordshire. The site has extant planning consent for the development.

Harworth has paid £2.6 million plus acquisition costs for an 88-acre adjacent to an existing 24-acre holding.

The site also benefits from Government Enterprise Zone status that provides incentives to potential occupiers.

Other sites recently bought and where planning has been secured include a 73-acre site in Wingates, Bolton, where up to 2.4 million sq ft of commercial space could be built. In addition the company has secured planning permission for a 151-acre site in Yorkshire which could provide up to 1.45 million sq ft of manufacturing and distribution space.

The Kellingley Colliery development in Selby, right at the heart of Yorkshire, benefits from easy access to the M62 motorway, a direct rail connection onto the main Hull to Wakefield line and access to Knottingley-Goole canal.

Harworth has spent the last twelve months undertaking site safety and security works, including demolishing redundant industrial structures, alongside masterplanning Kellingley for future employment uses.

An outline planning application was submitted in November 2016

Barton Willmore acted as planning consultant.  Harworth will now concentrate its efforts in preparing the land for redevelopment and promoting the site to key international and national businesses, with the site able to accommodate units ranging from 17,000 sq. ft to 600,000 sq. ft.  Appointed agents are Knight Frank and Gent Visick.
