Headquarters of JCL AG is on the move to Switzerland

JCL AG logistics group achieved improve in results for 2013 with a slightly declining turnover and cuts 30 jobs in Styria

JCL AG, the globally operating logistics provider, removes its headquarters from Styria. In line with the restructuring initiated last autumn, the base of the holding company will be moved from Werndorf near Graz to Switzerland this April. This costs about 30 jobs from the „overheads“ area, reports the newspaper “Kleine Zeitung” in its week-end issue.

In 2013 JCL has achieved positive results with a slightly declining turnover. Adjusted EBITA grew from EUR 4 million in 2012 to EUR 12 million; turnover dropped from EUR 473 million to EUR 457 million. After a quite difficult year 2012 and optimisation measures initiated last year, the company was able to keep its course. As for 2014 they were cautiously optimistic, expecting stable turnover and further improvements in the results, says CEO Stephan Jöbstl.

The restructuring started last autumn, thus decentralisation of the holding functions have been completed, according to Stephan Jöbstl. The major part of the holding functions are carried out by their own subsidiaries, which is the reason why 30 jobs had to be cut in Styria. The future headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, provides perfect conditions, including the asset of good connection through international flights. However, the operative forwarding business in Austria will not be affected by this move. Also the group’s IT is to remain in Styria.

JCL Logistics operates in 20 countries with over 60 branches and 1,400 employees in the segments of product and transport logistics. JCL AG focuses on managing services across the entire supply chain in the health, chemical, retail, automotive and industrial sectors.
