High praises for the apprentice training at Gebrüder Weiss

Humans are the biggest potential of an enterprise says international transport and logistics provider Gebrüder Weiss
 
The strong commitment to apprentice training meets with a positive response in the highest political circles. During a visit of the GW headquarters in Lauterach the governor of Vorarlberg Markus Wallner recognised the company’s considerable efforts in training junior employees. Moreover the politician paid respect to the innovative force of the international transport and logistics provider.
 
Gebrüder Weiss has currently more than 5,000 employees at locations in 28 countries on their payroll; with about 1,000 persons working in Vorarlberg. They are training a total of 220 apprentices in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, 44 of them in Vorarlberg. The company has been holding the title Excellent Apprenticeship for many years.
 
“Humans are our company’s biggest potential“, emphasises Roland Gander, regional director West at Gebrüder Weiss. “We have a good mixture of longstanding employees and committed young staff.We always manage to train young people to become specialists, who are committed to our company on the long-term. Many of today’s senior executives and managers have started their career as an apprentice in the company. "
 
In addition to the apprenticeship, the governor was also informed on the progress of the construction and reconstruction work at the company headquarters. The new headquarters with a connected logistics terminal is being built for EUR 28 million in Lauterach. "With the project, the company has made a clear commitment to this region," said Markus Wallner during the tour. 100 new jobs will be created there on the long term.
