New returns services with UPS in Europe
Introduction of UPS Returns Exchange and UPS Returns and Collect in 30 European countries – including Austria:
UPS announces the introduction of two new returns services for customers in 30 European countries – including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. They shall give companies and parcel recipients a better control of their return shipments and the exchange of sent goods.
The service offer UPS Returns Exchange streamlines returns logistics of enterprises through combining delivery and collection. A replacement article is delivered and the goods ready for return is collected at the same time. This service addresses in particular companies from the high tech, medical products and retail industry.
The second service innovation called UPS Returns Pack and Collect offers three kinds of UPS boxes for collection and return of articles. A driver brings the UPS box and a self-adhesive return document to the customer and controls if it is the correct return good. Then the driver assists packing the good, which is then returned in the UPS network to the original shipper.
Moreover a resealable express cover was added to UPS’ program, which allows delivery and return of documents in the same package. The reusable envelop is made from 100 per cent recycling paper and is available for customers throughout Europe.
“This innovative service brings our expertise in shipping and reverse logistics straight to the customer’s door, giving them the advantages of speed and convenience,” says Nick Basford, Vice President of Marketing, UPS Europe. Rapid replacement of an item or simple return of an important article increase customer satisfaction as he estimates.
