RCA registered growth in 2008
Despite declining volumes in December by around 15 per cent cargo traffic of the Austrian national railway showed a positive trend in 2008. Rail Cargo Austria AG (RCA) registered a growth in forwarded cargo volumes as well as in sales revenues. The EBIT showed a positive figure as well, as Executive Director Ferdinand Schmidt confirmed when speaking to the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung (Austrian Transport Magazine). Rail Cargo Austria transporte 98.5 million tons of goods during the reference period and hence exceeded last year’s figure by 1.5 per cent.
