Hödlmayr establishes PDS services in Greater Vienna

Hödlmayr Logistics enhances service range with takeover of the vehicle logistics warehouse of Porsche Austria in Wiener Neustadt
 
Porsche Austria, a vehicle importer, disposes of its logistics warehouse in Wiener Neustadt. The new operator of the facility will be Hödlmayr Logistics, thereby increasing their logistic radius and continuing on the chosen path as a full service provider. As a result of the takeover Hödlmayr covers 45 per cent of the market of Porsche Austria for VW and Audi.
 
The vehicle logistics warehouse of Porsche Austria in Wiener Neustadt covers a total area of 77,000 m² and has a storage capacity of about 1,600 or a delivery volume of 40,000 vehicles per year. With the takeover Hödlmayr Logistics GmbH has been in charge of vehicle delivery for more than 20 years, as well as for operation of the distribution facility including technical and logistical services.
 
”We are delighted that we do not only increase the market share with the takeover of the range of services, but also have the possibility to offer services in the area of PDS (Pre Delivery Services) in Greater Vienna“, says Johannes Hödlmayr, Spokesman of the management board. ”With the storage area in Wiener Neustadt we have considerably increased our action potential and can operate even more comprehensively via the Hödlmayr network.“
 
With the federal states Vienna, Lower Austria, Styria and Burgenland the new location in Wiener Neustadt covers 80 per cent of public sector customers and 45 per cent of Porsche Austria market for the group brands VW and Audi. This cooperation ideally combines the brands Skoda and Seat, which in a longstanding collaboration have been delivered via Schwertberg to 100 per cent. Hödlmayr takes over the existing lease contract with ÖBB in Wiener Neustadt.
 
With the takeover of the vehicle logistics warehouse Hödlmayr continues its way as a full and versatile service provider. ”With additional investments in the technical infrastructure of the vehicle logistics centre Wiener Neustadt we will continue to continuously improve possibilities for preparation of fleet or buy back vehicles, which we do for other brands outside of the Volkswagen Group in Vienna’s metropolitan area “, says Johannes Hödlmayr about future plans.
 
Hödlmayr International AG and its subsidiaries in fourteen countries employ more than 1,300 staff, have a storage area for 75,000 vehicles and own 550 special trucks for car transport and ten block train destinations. The enterprise headquartered in Schwertberg, Upper Austria, recently achieved an annual turnover of EUR 190 million. Hödlmayr International AG delivers about one million cars each year. In six car production plants Hödlmayr operates as releasing agent (forwarding agent which is also responsible for the entire quality control of the new vehicles). As a releasing agent Hödlmayr processes 550,000 new vehicles per year.
