Logwin plans new sites in the east of Croatia

”Simply the right decision!“: Logwin looking back on 20 years of operation in Croatia and continues on a course of growth in 2013

The logistics service provider Logwin is celebrating the 20th birthday of their national subsidiary in Croatia. Founded in May 1993, the first location in Zagreb started with a staff of six employees and has grown into today’s organisation comprising seven locations and a total of 110 employees. A string of sites was opened in the east of the country in Osijek (2001), Vukovar (2004), Tovarnik und Erdut (both 2010). In the north, the logistics service provider is represented in Zagreb (1993) together with a further site in nearby Sveta Nedelja (2011). The company has operated a branch in the port city of Rijeka in the west of the country since 2012.

"Our involvement in Croatia back in 1993 was a bold step," explains Mario Aschbacher, Head of Central and Eastern Europe at the Logwin business segment Solutions. "From today’s viewpoint it was simply the right decision to take. We have grown successfully with our customers over the past 20 years." In the past, Logwin Croatia has seen annual growth of around 20 per cent and has become one of the most successful logistics companies in the country. Today, the enterprise is still on a course of growth in the EU accession country Croatia: The logistics service provider will continue to expand its network of locations – new sites are planned in the east of the country near to the border with Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Customers of Logwin’s services in Croatia are mainly manufacturers and retailers in the fashion and consumer goods sectors. The company provides contract logistics services such as warehousing, picking and packing and value added services, customs processing as well as national and international transportation. "Our customers are increasingly asking for air and sea freight services, too," says Sasa Baleta, Country Manager for Logwin in Croatia. The logistics service provider operates a total of three warehouse facilities with around 23,000 m² of storage space in Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb. Logwin runs a distribution centre for dry goods and a cold storage for fresh products in Sveta Nedelja on behalf of a large trading company.
