Hong Kong Airlines Launches World’s First All-Business Class A330-200 with Roadshows in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing

Hong Kong Airlines is showcasing the world’s first all-business class A330-200 aircraft at an exclusive media tour hosted concurrently in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing to announce Hong Kong Airlines’ new routes and in-flight services. The latter features, as culinary consultants, famous Hong Kong chef Chow Chung and Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton.

The aircraft  brings  the luxuries of VIP air travel  to Hong Kong Airlines customers. Each aircraft comprises the Airlines’ exclusive CLUB PREMIER and CLUB CLASSIC seating, which promise passengers the utmost comfort.  The CLUB PREMIER section offers only 34 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. These flat-bed seats are completely horizontal when fully reclined and measure an overall length of 6 feet one inch.  The CLUB CLASSIC section offers 82 seats in a 2-2-2 configuration, where the seat pitch (seat-to-seat distance) measures a generous 51” while the seat cushion width is a comfortable 22”.

Mr Stanley Kan, Director of Hong Kong Airlines’ Service Delivery Department, said, “Both of the two cabin sections have been engineered with the newest concepts for optimal in-flight comfortability.  The seats are so ergonomically-designed and the configuration so thoughtfully devised that each and every passenger will be able to enjoy maximum privacy—be it for WIFI connectivity, in-flight Skybar refreshment or individual in-flight entertainment, making long-haul flight boredom a thing of the past.”

Business travellers are particularly concerned about connectivity during long flights. Hong Kong Airlines offers passengers the OnAir in-flight connectivity services for prompt and fast smartphone, tablet and notebook computer and internet accessibility through WIFI. Passengers may also buy, at any time on the internet, value-added in-flight WIFI services.
OnAir Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ian Dawkins, pointed out, “OnAir is the first provider to be able to offer in-flight Internet access over China, meaning passengers can now stay online in Chinese airspace. It also means we now provide 95% service availability on the routes our customer airlines fly, cementing OnAir’s position as the global inflight connectivity service provider.”

A VIP air travel experience isn’t complete without exceptional in-flight dining. Hong Kong Airlines is proud to have appointed local celebrity Chinese chef Chow Chung and Michelin-starred British chef    Jason Atherton as consultants. They will be helping Hong Kong Airlines to design special menus for discerning travellers. Mr Chow, a veteran chef with 50 years of experience, is very well known in the territory for his culinary talent and expertise. He expressed, “Business travellers are used to fine dining and tend to have very sophisticated palates which appreciate the best in taste, ingredients and nutritional value.” Chow will therefore be creating for Hong Kong Airlines recipes and dishes that best embody the essence of Hong Kong as a gourmet paradise.

For Western delights, Michelin-starred Maze in London’s former chef Jason Atherton is in charge. The BBC cooking show host has also been the winner of numerous foreign cooking contests, from Britain to Dubai. Last, but not least, the in-flight Skybar is ready to offer Bauhinia Blossom, a non-alcoholic cocktail delight that refreshes with the scent of Bauhinia, Hong Kong’s city flower, and pomegranate.
