Honold Logistik striving for a leading position in Southern Germany

Honold Logistik group sees substantial growth in its turnover generated abroad in 2013 and expanded its logistics area by 100,000 m² by investing EUR 40 million

Logistics provider Honold (Neu-Ulm) has been slightly growing in the 2013 financial year. The companies of the private corporation increased their turnover 3.6 per cent year-on-year to EUR 228 million. Turnover generated abroad grew substantially compared to 2012, by 13 per cent. The lion’s share was generated through logistic warehousing operations, property development and logistic value added services as well as transportations. The group’s results remained stable due to restructuring and a company acquisition.

In the reporting period Honold Logistik has invested more than EUR 40 million and put into operation 100,000 m² new logistics area. Sophisticated new customers such as Zeiss, Ratiopharm – a subsidiary of Teva, Paul Hartmann and Heraeus Kulzer are in the startup phase. The strategic growth in Romania was accelerated in 2013 with an investment of about EUR 10 million.

Despite the sale of a site in Southern Germany, the management board reckons with a significant increase in sales again ranging between EUR 229 million and EUR 232 million and a significant increase in the operating income (EBIT) for the 2014 fiscal year. Honold aims to become the leading logistics provider in Southern Germany and play a technically leading role in Germany. The company currently employs 1,250 persons who manage more than 750,000 m² of warehouse space at 22 locations.
