Howdens’ logistics contract goes to Wincanton
Howdens Joinery, the manufacturer of kitchen and joinery products, has appointed Wincanton as its logistics partner following competitive tender.
Wincanton will operate Howdens’ transport sites in Glasgow, Avonmouth and Radlett, for the next three years, and deliver to 577 depots across the UK using a fleet of between 35 and 60 vehicles, depending on seasonal demand.
Bob Philip, director of operations for Howdens Joinery, said: “We chose Wincanton as our logistics partner because they are very much aligned to our growth programme and demonstrated a clear desire to keep improving service levels and deliver on our customer promise.”
