Huettemann group accompanies its customer Xindao to Romania

New subsidiary of Huettemann group in Baia Mare to control the entire logistics of promotional and gift article manufacturer Xindao

The Duisburg-based Huettemann group is now active in Romania with its own company. Rabelink Logistics SRL was founded in October as a subsidiary of Huettemann’s Dutch branch Rabelink Logistics. Alexandru Kerekes has been appointed Managing Director of the Romanian company.

Huettemann’s Romanian subsidiary is based in Baia Mare in the northwest of the country, where the Dutch promotional and gift article manufacturer Xindao B.V. is currently building its new European logistics centre. “We have been working for Xindao for the past 25 years and are expanding our cooperation even further by founding the new company”, says Rabelink’s Managing Director Alwin Schweckhorst.

In the future, Rabelink Logistics SRL will assume responsibility for all logistics at the ultra-modern warehouse, from goods receipt and order picking to Europe-wide distribution. The new logistics centre is set to open at the start of next year. Rabelink Logistics SRL is investing in industrial trucks, information and communication systems and manpower at the centre. During the initial phase, the team in Romania will manage the logistics processes in close cooperation with the Dutch parent company, and later on take over the entire running itself.

Rabelink currently runs Xindao’s logistics centre in ‘s-Heerenberg directly at the Dutch-German border. Approximately 2,500 different items are shipped from there to destinations throughout Europe. After the gradual move to Baia Mare, which Rabelink is also organising, the majority of items will be distributed from Romania, with only around 20 percent remaining in the Netherlands.

As additional service, Rabelink will also transport sea containers from China with Xindao’s goods from Rotterdam via the ‘s-Heerenberg warehouse to Baia Mare by truck. Alwin Schweckhorst: “I am confident that we will be very successful in Romania and am looking forward to the challenges ahead. Initial discussions with potential customers are already underway.”

Under their slogan „Logistics and More“ the Huettemann gruppe provides compehensive services in contract logistics and worldwide transport management. The medium-sized, internationall operating logistics provider has about 625 employees across Europe in 22 locations in Germany, the Netherlands and now also in Romania.
