IMPATEX READY FOR SAD H 6 WEEKS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Leading Customs software supplier Impatex continues to run well ahead of the SAD Harmonisation timetable, with the release to all its customers of a fully-tested and fully-functional SAD H upgrade to its Customs Manager software.

The latest version of Impatex Customs Manager has already undergone comprehensive testing at pilot sites, using the trial data provided under HM Revenue and Customs’ HMUT facility. The release of the Impatex SAD H upgrade has taken place some 6 weeks ahead of  SAD H Day (October 1st), giving customers extra time to familiarise themselves with the new screens and tariff changes, and to perform dummy entries, before they begin working with the live system.

From October 1st, the old and new SAD formats will run side by side until mid-January, when the old format will no longer be allowed. Impatex Customs Manager meanwhile enables users to switch from the (default) new SAD format back to the old format on an entry-by-entry basis, in the event that they experience any problems.

Says Impatex MD Peter Day: “We have gone as far as we can, using HM Revenue and Customs’ test data. The real test comes after October 1st, when users will have the opportunity to perform real entries, and all the systems will work together for the first time with real data.

“After all our successful trials, we are confident that our system will function correctly from the outset. But if there are any problems at all, we have given ourselves and our customers the maximum time to deal with them, and we have provided our users with an instant fall-back.”

Note to Editors

Impatex has supplied Customs processing systems since 1980, and pioneered ‘Intelligent’ DTI in 1983 to coincide with the introduction of FCP80 for the Felixstowe ocean community.  The Impatex multi-modal Customs Manager software uniquely interfaces with all the DTI Communities – CCS-UK, CNS, Dover, MCP, and Pentant. The system comprises 9 modules covering DTI, ERTS, NES, NCTS, CFSP, Warehousing, OPR, IPR and Intrastats – all automatically validated against the full HM Customs Tariff which is updated monthly. Customs Manager is in use by hundreds of UK multi-modal freight forwarding companies of all sizes – including 14 of the IATA top 20 agents – together with many importers and exporters.
