IMS Cargo Austria: 25 years of advanced container logistics

In the presence of numerous customers and business partners, the container operator IMS Cargo Austria GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary in Vienna on the 21st of September. “Today we are a one-stop shop for maritime container transports by rail,” managing director Wolfgang Tomassovich said at the event.

As a supplement to the rail transports, the company serves its customers, like forwarding and liner shipping companies, in the segments of container trucking, customs logistics (Vienna Freudenau office) and data transfer via interfaces. Their core product is the “ACS Austria Container Shuttle” with currently six weekly block train rotations between the German seaports and Enns in Austria. The terminal for unaccompanied combined transport in Vienna Freudenau is also integrated in this service.

IMS was founded in 1993 as a private container operator. The full service provider with branches in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain and Portugal as well as worldwide partners, offers all services related to combined transport. Their 80 employees handled around 120,000 TEU in 2017 and generated sales of EUR 33.2 million.

The OEVZ magazine will feature a detailed report about IMS Cargo Austria in its No. 35/2018.
