IMS celebrates 20-years jubilee as container operator

IMS – Intermove Systems was established in 1993 as a private provider of forwarding services and container operator. The company celebrates its 20th anniversary together with customers and business partners at the Collosseum 21 in Vienna-Floridsdorf. The IMS Worldgames, which took place during the celebration, the container operator supports social projects through donation of the guest’s scored points (in euros).
 
IMS dedicates the 2013 anniversary year to internationalisation. Their lately confirmed takeover of Intercontainer Iberica they entered the market in Spain and Portugal, where an industry solution for chemicals is being developed. The office in Brussels has started operating in spring, and is preparing to launch a block train service connecting Antwerp and Basels.
 
IMS started operating as a niche forwarder, providing services for general cargo distribution and in the segment of international moves, and has organised its first container handlings in the very same year. 
 
Since 1995 the team has exclusively been dealing with container transport and has become a leading operator in this segment in Austria.
 
In late summer 2013 the company acts as full service provider for intermodal transport. Their about 100 employees were handling 147,000 TEU last year, thus generating turnover of EUR 47 million. The company runs locations in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Spain and Portugal as well as a global partner network.
