Intereuropa Group launches new business model for land transport

Slovenian transport and logistics group Intereuropa expects a considerable decline in sales revenues in the year 2012

The Slovenian transport and logistics group Intereuropa is about to implement the “redesign” of its land transport activities. At a supervisory board meeting the management presented its plans for a tighter control of processes with simultaneous introduction of measures to strengthen synergies with other sectors. The reduced use of own vehicle fleet is a done deal. Moreover the management wants to strengthen the company’s position as a leading provider of transport and logistics services in Slovenia and former Yugoslavia.

The Intereuropa Group closed the 2011 fiscal year with revenues of EUR 211.9 million (up 11 per cent compared to 2010) and an operating profit of EUR 6.8 million. In 2012, the management board expects about EUR 192 million in turnover and an improvement in operating profit by 25 per cent to around EUR 13 million. The sales decline is explained by the cessation of the subsidiaries’ activities in Germany and France and of Intereuropa Transport. The staffing level will drop to about 1,900 employees by the end of the year.
