ITG forwarding company switches to portfolio of LGI Logistics Group

LGI Logistics Group and Deutsche Post DHL group agree to sell ITG GmbH Internationale Spedition; brand name ITG to be retained

 
through its subsidiary LGI Logistics Group International GmbH, Kajo Neukirchen GmbH has agreed with Deutsche Post DHL to purchase their subsidiary ITG GmbH Internationale Spedition + Logistik. A corresponding letter of understanding was signed on May 29. It stipulates that LGI will acquire 100% of ITG. The transaction is subject to approval by the competent authorities; conclusion of the contract is anticipated at the end of June. Both parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality of the financial details of the transaction.
 
This was an action to expand its service offerings for current and future customers and simultaneously capture new growth opportunities, reads a press release of LGI. ITG is presented as an international logistics and freight forwarding company that offers its services, especially ocean and air freight as well as road transportation and logistics solutions, to many industrial sectors and especially to fashion and lifestyle companies. ITG has belonged to Deutschen Post DHL since 1999. Today, ITG employs 1,000 people, achieving annual sales of EUR 151 million.
 
 From a geographical perspective as well, the business activities of ITG and LGI are a perfect match. In addition to the international locations of LGI, ITG is present at hubs like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Boston, and Moscow and collaborates also with agents in more than 200 locations in 90 countries. Under the new owner LGI, ITG will continue to operate as an independent company and brand. Existing locations and personnel will not be affected by the transaction.
 
The LGI Logistics Group International plans, coordinates and executes complete logistics concepts storage logistics, production processes, forwarding/transport and customs services on behalf of companies from the automotive, electronics, industrial and health care segment. The service portfolio covers production logistics, distribution logistics and returns logistics. Established by Hewlett-Packard Germany in 1995, the company has currently about 2,300 employees at more than 30 locations in Europe and counts among the leading enterprises in European contract logistics. In 2012 they generated turnover of EUR 245 million.
 
ITG GmbH – Internationale Spedition und Logistik with headquarters in Schwaig at Munich Airport is a midsized minded logistics service provider with 14 locations and eight logistics centres in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, USA as well as Russia. ITG offers a wide range of contract logistics services, covering storage, picking and comprehensive value added services like quality control, set-building, kitting, textile finishing as well as returns management and inhouse stitching services. A special focus lies on services for the fashion, sports, cosmetics and luxury goods sectors.
