JCL Logistics triggers another drumbeat

Purchase of Wincanton B.V. brings 330 employees and EUR 100 million turnover to JCL Logistics The Netherlands B.V.

JCL Logistics The Netherlands B.V. enters the circle of the leading logistics service providers of the Benelux area. Having signed the purchasing and transfer agreement the enterprise has acquired 100 per cent of Wincanton B.V.. The change of the owner is subject to the approval by the competitive authorities.

Wincanton B.V., is to act under the name JCL Logistics Benelux. The enterprise generates an annual turnover of around EUR 100 million and has 330 employees, which are to be fully taken over by JCL. This strategic acquisition consolidates JCL’s international corporate network and positions it as a leading supplier of product and transport logistics in the Netherlands and abroad.

The acquisition means an enormous expansion of the transport logistic network of JCL. Contract logistics, forwarding services and intermodal transport cover the Benelux area at 100 per cent. Moreover the network in the CIS, Eastern Europe and the Middle East is strengthened. Customers active in these countries will be able to profit from guaranteed increased frequency of departures, and hence shorter transit times.

JCL Logistics the Netherlands B.V. operates locations in Valkenswaard, Beringe, Venlo, Rotterdam and Eersel. Wincanton B.V. has sites in ´s – Heerenberg, Eersel, Leeuwarden and Moerdijk, and is active in the segments contract logistics, storage, national and international distribution as well as product improving services. In the Benelux area the enterprise is a leader for intermodal transport and is well established in automotive, chemicals, consumer goods, industrial and retail.

JCL Logistics headquartered in Graz (Austria) has 1,900 employees at 60 locations in 25 countries and offers operative activities for transport and product logistics as well as eCommerce. Specialising in the segments Health, Chemical Industry, Retail, Automotive, Industry the enterprise lately generated an annual turnover of EUR 550 million.
