Jerich International opens second office focussed on Ocean Freight

Market entry to Turkey: Styrian concept forwarder Jerich International to open its Istanbul branch in March

Jerich International consolidates its commitment to organising and handling sea freight, which has previously mainly been coordinated from the Hamburg branch. The Styrian transport and logistics company is to open an office in Istanbul with focus on Ocean Freight in March.

The trigger for this expansion was the great potential of Turkey in the field of container imports and exports of paper products. In addition, the market has been dominated by one large provider, which could not remain a permanent situation, as Herbert Jerich jun., managing director, said to the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

45 years after being established, Jerich International, headquartered in Gleisdorf, Styria, operates as an international concept forwarder, generating about 80 per cent of the volume of business for clients in the sector of forestry products. Including the activities for customers from the automotive, steel, consumer goods and beverages industries the group with a total of 700 employees headed by him achieved a turnover of approximately EUR 160 million in 2013.
