DPD Austria remains Würth’s partner for parcel services

Contract renewed to December 2016: Würth continues to use the services of DPD Austria in construction site logistics and parcel delivery

Würth, the market leader in the segment of assembly and fastening technology, renewed its contract with DPD Austria prematurely to the end of 2016 because of their successful cooperation. The reason therefore is the reliability in the core business – parcel shipping of screws, fittings, dowels and various other articles, as well as special services in the segment of DPD’s construction site logistics.

DPD has been cooperating with Würth since 2005 and carries about 680,000 parcels of mounting accessories of this brand to commercial and industrial enterprises annually. In addition the company has developed construction site logistics together with Würth. The parcel company notifies an explicitly named person about the shipments on the phone – 15 minutes previous to delivery of the specially marked parcels which are handled by specially trained DPD drivers. Moreover the employees of DPD are monitoring the course of each construction site parcel. In case of deviations the recipient and also the shipper if necessary, respectively, is immediately informed.

In its core business Würth appreciates by its own account the reliability of the DPD parcel delivery. „From the receipt of an order at the Würth headquarters until the arrival of the goods at the customer it usually takes less than 24 hours,“ says CEO Alfred Wurmbrand. „We owe that not only to our internal processes, but also to the high quality standards of DPD.“ That is why we have renewed the contract with DPD prior to expiration of the current contract period for the next three years to December 2016.
