Jöbstl forwarding company expands its location in Wundschuh

Change in the Management Board and new building project in Styria at Jöbstl forwarding company

A generation change is to take place at the Jöbstl forwarding company in Spielfeld in southern Styria in 2010. Longterm head Kurt Jöbstl is to cede his function of managing director to his sons Christoph Jöbstl and Kurt-Jürgen Jöbstl. At the same time an expansion measure is to be implemented shortly at the location in Wundschuh. With a total investment of EUR 2.5 million a new handling facility will be built until the end of this year. “We intend to build a hall with 2,700 sq. m. of covered area and 30 gates, where we are going to concentrate all international groupage traffics going via the locations in southern Styria“, forwarding manager Josef Luttenberger explains in the interview with Österreichische Verkehrszeitung (Austrian Transport Magazine).

What is decisive for this measure is the lately strong growth in demand for warehousing logistics services. This development initiates the management to concentrate the general cargo traffic, which is handled by the Styrian locations, in Wundschuh near the Cargo Center Graz. The Southeast European operations are currently going via the headquarters in Spielfeld, which is going to focus on logistics business by the end of this year. Simultaneously with the start of operation of the new building the currently operated forwarding facility in Wundschuh, which has a covered area of 3,800 sq. m. (including 1,500 sq. m. for general cargo), is redesigned into a pure logistics facility.

The name Jöbstl stands for a traditional forwarding company with a strong orientation towards Southeastern Europe. The Styrian family enterprise has 210 employees at their locations in Spielfeld, Wundschuh, Vienna, Fürnitz, Ljubljana and Budapest-Gyál. The annual turnover amounted to EUR 43,5 million in 2009.
