Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner form the new VIE Management Board

Newly appointed Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG to head Austria’s biggest air freight hub from early September:

 

The Supervisory Board of the Flughafen Wien AG has appointed a new Management Board in its meeting yesterday. The new team is to head the enterprise from early September 2011. Mag. Julian Jäger (39) will be in charge of the segment Aviation. He has been heading the airport of Malta since 2008, in which Flughafen Wien AG has a majority holding. He has many years of experience within the enterprise. Dr. Günther Ofner (54) was appointed Chief Financial Officer and will head the Non-Aviation segment. The manager is a longstanding CEO of the Burgenland Holding AG company, listed at the stock exchange, and has lately been managing major projects in south-eastern Europe for the power supplier EVN AG (also construction projects), as well as the segments strategiy planning and Mergers & Aquisitions.

“This management team represents renewal and expertise. We are convinced of having made the right decision to form a good basis for the development of the Vienna airport. By reducing the Management Board to two persons we want to give a sign and improve the vigour of the management of the enterprise“, explained the head of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Wien AG, Ing. Ewald Kirschner. The two members of the Management Board Ing. Gerhard Schmid and Ernest Gabmann will be available for a well organised transfer until the end of the year 2011.
