Kombiverkehr Deutsche Gesellschaft für kombinierten Güterverkehr mbH/Co KG (Frankfurt/Main) is increasing its capacities in traffic with Austria. From 16 May ten instead of the previous eight direct train services on each course will be operated on the route between Neuss in the Ruhr area and Vienna. Thus the offer grows by 25 per cent.

In total Kombiverkehr will operate 23 weekly direct train pairs between Germany and Austria. In addition to the ten rotations between Neuss and Vienna, there are five train pairs between Neuss and Wels, five between Duisburg and Wels, as well as three between Ludwigshafen and Wels. Via feeder services within Austria the hub Wels offers also intermodal connections to the terminals in Graz, St. Michael, Krems/Danube, Hall in Tyrol, Villach, Wolfurt and Salzburg. Moreover five weekly trains are operated from Vienna to Budapest and back. Kombiverkehr operates these trains in cooperation with RCA Intermodal.

“Apart from its major significance in transit to Italy, Austria is also ranked among the countries offering the most links to Germany, regarding bilateral traffic", explains Robert Breuhahn, managing director Kombiverkehr KG.
